Kabir Sadeghi received a Ph.D. degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering and a D.E.A. degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering from the University of Nantes/École centrale de Nantes of France, in March 1995 and May 1991, respectively.
He has also an M.Sc. degree in Structural Engineering and a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology (1986 and 1979, respectively).
He has been ranked as a top student during his Ph.D., D.E.A., M.Sc., and B.Sc. educations.
Professor Sadeghi has submitted five new algorithms/formulations to simulate numerically the nonlinear behavior and damage of confined and unconfined concretes as well as structural members. About 100 scientific articles have been published from his works in peer-reviewed SCI Journals, International Journals, and International conferences. He also has published two technical books, which are mainly references for marine and offshore structural engineers, Master students, and Ph.D. candidates. Prof.
Prof. Sadeghi has had a lot of experience and collaboration in marine, onshore, offshore and industrial structures in international big projects as project manager, project engineering manager, senior consultant, designer, and supervisor. He is the founder of IR Marine and Offshore Structures National Code, the founder of the biannual International Conferences on Coasts, Ports and Marine Structures (ICOPMAS) and the chairman of the International Scientific Committee of ICOPMAS90, ICOPMAS96, ICOPMAS98 and ICOPMAS2004.
Since 1986 Prof. Sadeghi has taught/researched as a full-time or part-time professor in several universities such as; the Sharif University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran Science and Technology University, K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Shahid Beheshti University, and Girne American University (as founding Head of Civil Engineering Department). Professor Sadeghi has important experiences as deputy of Vice-Minister, Vice-Rector, Dean of Faculty, and Head of Department.
Professor Sadeghi joined the Near East University in September 2015and currently, he is the Head of the Civil Engineering Department of NEU. Prof. Sadeghi has received the Scientific Publication Awards in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 from Near East University.
Kabir Sadeghi is married, and he has a son and a daughter.
